Looking back at Friday Night's Games...

Wow... two games last night and both went into overtime. Both road teams won and both times by the score of 4-3. In both games, the team that scored first won and the game-winning goal was scored by a forward. Anyways, moving away from the similarities and onto the individual games...

#7 Buffalo Sabres vs #2 Philadelphia Flyers (4-3 OT)
I didn't expect the Sabres to win high-scoring games, I guess I was wrong. The Sabres got three really quick goals to start the game and chase Boucher, although several of the goals were real soft. The Flyers charged back, taking advantage of shotty defense on the part of the Sabres after they got a 3 goal lead that allowed the Flyers to come back and tie the game. However, a busted play for the Flyers trying to come out cost them the game as Buffalo took advantage of their gaffe and managed to get a quality shot on net as Leighton left a juicy rebound for Tyler Ennis to hammer in.

#5 Nashville Predators vs #4 Anaheim Ducks (4-3 OT)
The Predators scored first, and as I predicted, won the game. I think the best play of the night was by Bobby Ryan to put the Ducks up 2-1. Look at it.

How insane was that? Anyways, a couple goals later and Shea Weber ties the game with 35.3 seconds left in the game. Teemu made a poor dump and ended up getting called for icing. The ensuing faceoff resulted in Weber wristing it from near the blue line and Emery never saw it. Tootoo made a great pass to Smithson early in overtime to end it for the Ducks. Momentum was the name of this game, Nashville had it in the end.
