So, we've seen the race cut down from 16 to 15 teams. It could go down to 14 tonight. The first round has been quite interesting thus far. We have two game 4's and a game 5 tonight, but it's that game 5 where we could lose the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
#3 Boston Bruins vs #6 Montreal Canadiens
You know, of all the players that have been suspended, there's been nobody suspended in this series so far, and this is a series I'm sure we'd be betting somebody got suspended. Well, there's still a game 4 and 5 at least. We'll see what happens. Tonight, I think the Bruins continue their resurgence in Montreal and win at the Bell Center. I think the B's have finally figured out what it is that they need to do to win against the speedy Habs.
My Prediction: 4-2 Bruins
#8 Chicago Blackhawks vs #1 Vancouver Canucks
Now this is going to be interesting... will the Blackhawks hang on to send this series back to Chicago? Dave Bolland is back and provided in a big in game 4. I really think that as a result, Chicago will win game 5. There are going to be fireworks after what happened in the third period of Game 4. 18 penalties, 5 misconducts, 2 fighting majors, and I think the rest were boarding or roughing, and there was a charging call in there. So expect fireworks and a closer game.
My Prediction: 4-3 Blackhawks
#2 San Jose Sharks vs #7 Los Angeles Kings
Game 3 was insane! As witnessed by both Dan and myself, the Sharks came back from being down 4-0 and pushed this game into overtime to win it. I have no idea how a team can recover from blowing a 4-0 lead. It's either the biggest letdown or the greatest comeback. The Kings have to get Game 3 out of their head and look forward to Game 4, otherwise, they're going to be in a lot of trouble. Niemi will still be starting in net despite letting in four goals early in game 3 and getting pulled in the second. He should be ready to win game 4 for the Sharks.
My prediction: 4-2 Sharks
Alright, we'll see how it goes tonight!
