You know... so far this week, I've been pretty good with the picks. It might be luck, it might be that I am not so much a homer anymore, I don't know, but I feel as though I'm better off judging the Western Conference than the Easter Conference because I am impartial to the West. I love a lot of teams out there, but I'm not fixed to any one team that being said... let's look at my track record...
Thursday 4/21/11 (3 out of 3)
Wednesday 4/20/11 (3 out of 5)
Tuesday 4/19/11 (2 out of 2)
Monday 4/18/11 (1 out of 4)
So I suck on even days, I'm good on odd. 9 out of 14 ain't bad thus far, let's see if I can keep it going...
#7 Buffalo Sabres vs #2 Philadelphia Flyers
I think when the Flyers start reporting that the Sabres are playing too rough, you know something's up. Chris Pronger won't be returning for game 5, but if the Flyers are actually scared of the Sabres, this could mean something. Buffalo won game 4 in dramatic fashion. Score a goal early and hold on for the lead. If they try to get into a shootout with the Flyers, they will lose. Ryan Miller has to be on his game for the Sabres to win and they'll have to keep Briere from scoring tonight if they want to win. Briere is the key for the Flyers, Miller for the Sabres.
My Prediction: 2-1 Sabres (same pick as last time, but I really think that it'll be low-scoring and the Sabres will win it)
#5 Nashville Predators vs #4 Anaheim Ducks
This has been an INSANE series. There's been suspensions, comebacks, fights, blowouts, goalie changes, dirty hits, players getting thrown outta games and much much more. This series has been, by far, the most exciting series of the playoffs thus far. Whoever scores first has won every game, and there's been at least five goals in every game. Rinne's going to be back in net and Bobby Ryan will be returning for the Ducks after serving a two game suspension. Jarkko Ruutu will miss a game for his head shot on Martin Erat who looks like he won't be playing today either.
Prediction: Preds 3-2
