Here's how the Western Conference will shake out

Currently,

1. Vancouver Canucks
2. San Jose Sharks
3. Detroit Red Wings
4. Anaheim Ducks
5. Nashville Predators
6. Phoenix Coyotes
7. Los Angeles Kings
8. Chicago Blackhawks
9. Dallas Stars

there's two games that will have a significant impact on the standings
Detroit Red Wings vs Chicago Blackhawks - 12:30pm
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild - 6pm (the last game of the regular season)
Chicago needs to simply earn a point to advance to the playoffs

Let's look at all the scenarios.
1. IF Dallas wins AND Chicago loses in regulation
Vancouver Canucks vs Dallas Stars
San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings
Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes
Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators

2. IF Dallas loses (regulation or overtime) AND Chicago loses in regulation
Vancouver Canucks vs Chicago Blackhawks
San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings
Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes
Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators

3. IF Chicago loses in overtime/shootout
Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings
San Jose Sharks vs Chicago Blackhawks
Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes
Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators

4. IF Chicago wins in regulation or overtime
Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings
San Jose Sharks vs Phoenix Coyotes
Detroit Red Wings vs Nashville Predators
Anaheim Ducks vs Chicago Blackhawks

5. However, IF Chicago wins in a shootout, things get interesting...
Vancouver Canucks vs Los Angeles Kings
San Jose Sharks vs Nashville Predators
Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes
Anaheim Ducks vs Chicago Blackhawks

If I did that right, based on tie-breaking procedure #3 regarding two or more tied clubs, it's the great amount of percentage points won in all games played excluding odd games. The Predators and Coyotes played 4 games against each other, the Predators and Blackhawks played 6 games against each other, and the Coyotes and Blackhawks played 4 games against each other. So the Predators and Blackhawks have a total of 20 points to earn, while the Coyotes have a total of 16 points to earn. So if I did this right, the Coyotes earn 9 out of a possible 16 points, the Predators earn 10 out of a total of 20 points, and the Blackhawks earn a total of 13 points out of a possible 20. So the Blackhawks would finish 5th. As a result, Nashville would drop to 7th and Phoenix would bump up to 6th. Crazy shit involving tie-breakers eh?
