There's a formula I used to calculate the power rankings based on everyone's current stats. So obviously, those that perform poorly will slide down, and those that do well will go up. The stats involved are Goals, Assists, +/-, SOG, and PIM. So that's why Sean Avery is so high.
Top 5 Hottest Fowards
1. Loui Eriksson - he's got 8 points in the last four games and 11 in the last eight games. He's also had a +2 and 22 SOG.
2. Corey Perry - he's been scoring points and racking up PIMs this season, turning out to be a monster. 13 pts in the last 7 games to go with 24 PIMs and 35 SOGs. He had a monster five point game against Minnesota and score two goals against Buffalo Tuesday Night.
3. Dustin Brown - he's also got 13 points in the last seven games including a four point night against Colorado on Tuesday. He's been tearing it up as of late
4. Brad Richards - Brad Richards is proving to the Stars management that he doesn't want to go. Eight points in the last 8 games and scoring goals in each of the last three, he's is absolutely on fire right now!
5. Evgeni Malkin - Malkin has scored nine points in 4 games since coming back from injury. He's really turned his game up a few notches and it's shown in the stat book. Not to mention, ESPN went crazy over his five point night against the Coyotes.
Top 5 Coldest Forwards...
1. Niclas Bergfors - this dude hasn't been playing or even skating for that matter, and somehow, a ton of people own him. It's time to dump him folks, even his team doesn't want him.
2. Jason Arnott - Arnott has not recorded a point in his last six games. Not only that, he has one goal and two assists since Thanksgiving.
3. Matt Cullen - what started as a fantasy point machine in the power play has now become an injury bug. Cullen isn't scoring, much less staying on the ice long enough to do so... time to dump him.
4. Thomas Vanek - Vanek hasn't been THAT bad, 2 goals, an assist in the past six games, but a -3 and only 13 SOG for a guy that's getting paid 7 million to score... he's really not living up to his potential or value right now...
5. Sean Avery - he gets PIMs, only PIMs, except when he's not on the ice to get PIMs, but the fact of the matter is, he's not getting as much ice time as he used to, not only that, his value is going down as fantasy owners realize he's not producing points anymore.
I guess this is all I got for now...
