As you read this, you might be wondering why some big names are down in sleepers and why some no names are up in solids. The reasoning behind this is that using a complex formula that I have derived, I get a point scale projection on how well players will do, kinda of like how ESPN has a player rating system in fantasy hockey. I also have created a fantasy hockey projection that takes in several variables and will give me a player rating of each player. As a result, I can put them in the three brackets that determine how well they should do in the coming week. Generally the projections work out correctly, however, there are those odd instances of injuries or bad games that cannot be accounted for. The Studs have a high number of my player rater, the Solids have a high number, but not in the upper echelon like the Studs. The sleepers are kinda in the middle. There are also players that are below my sleeper rankings who just aren't projected to do well at all. The reason I do this week to week is because of the amount of games each team will play. So obviously players that play 2 games this week will not be rated. Also, players that are consistently doing well or have come off a big week will be rated or are playing four games will be rated. This doesn't mean I rate every single player, but I have a decent sized pool that I pick from and I feel that I am generally correct. I usually was last year, so let's see how it goes this year.
