NHL Divisional realignment

So the Atlanta Thrashers are now officially the Winnipeg Jets. The NHL has decided not to re-align the divisions this year, which will result in three trips to Winnipeg for the Caps. However, should the NHL decide to re-align, how would it look? Here's some potential ideas being thrown around.

So it's been a while....

Well, it's been a tumultuous few weeks for myself, as you may have noticed, the site has not been maintained properly, but that's about to change. I've had some family issues and as a result, been unable to do as much as I'd like, but I'm back and ready to keep this running. I've got a few articles already planned out for the end of the month and will also be taking care of my fantasy baseball rankings starting on June 28th. NHL Free Agency will start July 1st, so you'll see something about that before it starts, there's also going to be a few articles on the Caps, Nats, and O's! So be prepared folks!

Bruins Canucks Update

The Bruins have evened the series at 2 games a piece after beating Vancouver 4-0 Wednesday night in Boston. For the first time this series, the Bruins scored in the first period on a five-hole shot delivered by Rich Peverley, filling in for Horton on the first line. Despite outshooting the Bruins 12-6, Vancouver went into the first intermission trailing 1-0 on the scoreboard.

About midway through the second Michael Ryder made it 2-0, beating Luongo gloveside with a shot from the top of the left circle. Five minutes later Krejci took a feed at the top of the crease and put it by Luongo to make it 3-0. The final tally of the game came in the third period. With a nifty move on the right boards, Lucic beat his defender and slid a pass to the front of the net, where it went first off Luongo's blade and then bounced off of Peverley's leg and into the net.

Tyler Seguin returned to the line up after being a healthy scratch for game 3. Skating on the third line with Ryder and Kelly, Seguin notched an assist on Ryder's goal in the second.

Tim Thomas had his second-straight remarkable game, stopping all 37 shots he faced to go 77-78 on shots faced in Boston this series. Keep on reading for a summary of Game 3, and stay tuned for Game 5 Friday night in Vancouver.

The devastating hit on Nathan Horton and Aaron Rome's suspension

While many of us were watching the game last night, we saw one of the ugliest hits this post-season. Aaron Rome took off and drilled Nathan Horton, as shown below.

Stanley Cup Finals Game 2

The Vancouver Canucks topped the Boston Bruins by a score of 3-2 Saturday night in Vancouver. Alex Burrows potted the game-winning goal just 11 seconds into the first overtime period on a quick wrap around, beating a sliding Tim Thomas and a lackluster show of defense by B's captain Zdeno Chara.

After going down 1-0 in the first, the Bruins were able to rally in the second off of goals from Mark Recchi (the oldest player to ever have a goal in the Finals) and Milan Lucic. Recchi's goal was also significant for coming while the Bruins were on the man advantage, their first PP goal after going 0-6 in game 1.

Both goalies made few mistakes, with Luongo stopping 28 of 30 shots and Thomas letting in three goals on 31 shots.

The Bruins now face a 2 game deficit heading back to Boston for game 3 Monday night at 7:30.
